About The Role

Management Accountant – 12-Month FTC

£80,000–£95,000

We are exclusively supporting an international specialty insurance organisation looking to appoint a qualified Management Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role will support the financial reporting of expenses, cash flow, and financial position across several entities operating throughout the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. This is a varied position combining management accounting, forecasting, balance-sheet control, and project work. The successful candidate will also support the team through the implementation of a new ERP system.

Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations
- Produce quarterly balance-sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation
- Support monthly and quarterly P&L forecasting
- Prepare general operating expense analysis and cash-flow forecasts
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany control accounts
- Produce consolidation schedules for the parent company
- Assist with expense reporting and annual budgeting
- Support external audit queries
- Assist with the implementation of a new finance ledger
- Support corporate-card journals and related reconciliations
- Provide accounting support across multiple legal entities
- Work closely with colleagues across finance and the wider business

Experience required
- Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Several years of post-qualified accounting experience
- Strong management accounting experience, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and forecasting
- Experience working across multiple entities
- Previous exposure to an ERP or finance-system implementation
- Confidence operating across existing and newly implemented finance systems
- Advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- Ability to manage competing workstreams and tight reporting deadlines
- Experience within a regulated environment
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Desirable experience
- Insurance or wider financial-services experience
- Exposure to US GAAP, IFRS, or UK GAAP reporting
- Experience using Workday, SUN, or Anaplan
- An interest in using automation or AI to improve finance processes

This would suit a hands-on Management Accountant who enjoys combining business-as-usual reporting with process improvement and systems-related work.
