Accounts Assistant - Project Accounting

About The Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join a growing media business. This is a hands-on role within a lean finance team, combining high-volume transaction processing with project accounting and cost allocation across a busy portfolio of shows and departments.

Responsibilities:

**Transaction Processing & Reconciliations**
- Process high-volume invoices, expenses, and card transactions accurately
- Code and reconcile transactions using Moss and other finance systems
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

**Project & Department Accounting**
- Track and allocate costs across projects, shows, and departments
- Ensure costs are coded accurately and support project-level reporting
- Work with producers and department heads to resolve queries

**Invoicing & Month-End**
- Raise sales invoices and monitor outstanding balances
- Support the Finance Manager with month-end close

**Stakeholder & Process Support**
- Handle day-to-day finance queries from internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Support ad hoc finance projects and identify opportunities to improve and automate processes

Requirements:

**Essential**
- 2+ years' experience in a high-volume finance role, ideally across Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant, or AP
- Strong experience with project or department-based accounting, including cost allocation and tracking
- Experience using project accounting software, such as Sage 200 or similar
- Experience with AP or spend-management systems such as Moss, Pleo, Spendesk, or Ramp
- Strong Excel and general systems skills
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive, organised approach
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with internal stakeholders and resolving queries

**Desirable**
- Part-qualified or actively studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Experience within media, entertainment, production, or another project-based environment
- Interest in AI, automation, and improving finance processes
- Previous experience using Moss
