About the Role
We are looking for a qualified finance professional with significant years’ post-qualified finance experience and a proven track record to lead the commercial, statutory, financial reporting and systems aspects of a significant and growing residential investment portfolio. This role is both strategic and operational, partnering closely with colleagues across the wider business, including Development, Asset Management, Operations, Investment, Legal and Tax, to drive returns, understand and support the various capital structures in place, and ensure robust financial governance. We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate and drive a culture of best practice across the wider team, alongside a collaborative approach between Finance and the broader business.

What You Will Deliver

**Investment & Development Input**
- Establish and build key relationships with funding partners across debt and equity and drive the stakeholder reporting process.
- Work closely with the FP&A team to consolidate forward-looking financial and operational information, including cash flows and returns analysis, across residential projects to aid strategic decision-making, including challenging and stress-testing underwriting and associated recommendations.
- Ensure project owners have accurate and timely financial information and are using that information to inform key project decisions.
- Act as Finance lead for the residential operating budget and forecasting process.
- Oversee debt facilities, covenant compliance, lender reporting and monthly submissions.
- Use internal systems effectively and follow internal processes as required, adhering to principles around a single source of truth, data ownership, record keeping and consistent taxonomy.

**Financial Reporting & Controls**
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for residential investment entities.
- Prepare monthly financial dashboards for individual projects.
- Own investor reporting processes.
- Review finance system postings for relevant entities.
- Work closely with the residential operations team to understand operational issues and actively provide finance support, for example in relation to rental arrears.
- Ensure compliance with relevant UK GAAP / IFRS requirements and internal governance frameworks.
- Provide financial oversight of the property finance management system, ensuring operations are aligned with industry best practice.
- Oversee operational finance matters, including compliance with relevant tenancy deposit requirements and arrears processes.
- Champion finance systems across the wider business, ensuring a high level of user adoption, ownership and governance across systems and processes, including training and development of users.

**Team Leadership & Development**
- Line management responsibility for finance team members supporting the residential portfolio, developing a strong business-partnering mindset.
- Focus on developing and coaching finance and commercial acumen across residential project teams.
- Demonstrate and drive a culture of best practice across the wider team, alongside a collaborative approach between Finance and the broader business.

**Skills and Attributes**
- Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs and other core formulas to support effective data manipulation and review.
- Experience within the build-to-rent / residential investment sector and experience with a property finance management system are essential.
