About The Role

12 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Central London | Hybrid
£65,000 – £70,000 + benefits pro rata
A large international business is recruiting a Treasury Accountant to join its Group Treasury team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role covering treasury accounting, intercompany activity, derivative valuations, hedge accounting, reconciliations, and controls. The role will also support the implementation of a Treasury Management System and the continued automation and improvement of treasury processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and post treasury journals, including funding movements, interest accruals, and settlements
- Perform month-end mark-to-market calculations for FX transactions and reconcile derivative valuations to the general ledger
- Maintain treasury balance sheet reconciliations and support Group reporting and audit
- Perform monthly intercompany netting and support the resolution of intercompany differences
- Prepare IFRS 9 hedge accounting entries and maintain hedge documentation and effectiveness assessments
- Coordinate interest rate swap valuations and reconcile against counterparty valuations and accounting records
- Support the implementation and testing of a Treasury Management System, including accounting functionality and general ledger interfaces
- Improve and automate treasury accounting processes, reconciliations, and controls
- Investigate and resolve accounting, settlement, and reconciliation issues
- Work closely with Treasury, Group Finance, Tax, and local Finance teams internationally
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with relevant treasury accounting experience gained within a complex organisation. You will have strong knowledge of treasury accounting, including FX and derivative transactions, intercompany accounting, interest calculations, and month-end journals. Practical experience of IFRS 9 hedge accounting, including derivative accounting, hedge documentation, and effectiveness assessment, will be important. You will also have strong Excel, analytical, reconciliation, and financial control skills. Experience with Finastra or another Treasury Management System would be advantageous, as would previous involvement in a Treasury or finance systems implementation.
The role will suit someone comfortable working hands-on with journals, reconciliations, and month-end accounting while also having the technical knowledge to deal with derivatives, FX, and hedge accounting. You will be organised, accurate, and able to work autonomously to tight deadlines.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a large international business in a broad Treasury Accounting role combining BAU accounting, technical work, process improvement, and systems implementation.
